I created a video on iMovie and I'm trying to export it to my desktop so I can share/upload it to other places. How do I do that? I have a MacBook Air and just updated iMovie. I'm pretty sure it's IOS 7.1.2. I'm extremely new to iMovie.

Start by having the removable drive plugged in to your computer and the iMovie should be open. When at the iMovie window, go to the 'file' icon and click for the dropdown options to show up. One of the options will be 'open library' and placing your cursor there will reveal other options to click 'new'. Every Apple fan knows how useful iMovie is when it comes to creating your own videos. The program gives Mac users an easy-to-use yet powerful video maker – and it's already built into their machine. Unfortunately, Apple developers have not provided a way to download iMovie for Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista. Now, you have the option to choose the resolution quality of the export video, which is usually 540p, 740p and 1080p.However, if your video footage is 4K quality, which iMovie now supports, there will also be a 4K option. Click on the 'Project Library' button in the upper left hand corner of the iMovie window. You will see your project listed, on your external hard drive in the Project Library pane. Drag your project to your iMovie projects list to copy the project to this Mac.
If you are having trouble with these steps:
- Make sure you are using iMovie '09 or later.
- Make sure both Macs have the same version of iMovie.
